Chaplain Bill Guenther with resident Robert French Jr.
This year we added a new Committee - Veteran Affairs & Rehabilitation. we asked for a Volunteer and Sr Vice Ray Lambert stepped forward to the task. Ray went down to Autumn Lake Healthcare in Ocean View. He spoke with the person in charge and found out that they have 9 Veterans there for long term care. He was given their birthdates, and one of the Veterans had a birthday on March 19. Ray then scheduled another meeting with Isabella, the person in charge, to find out what is permitted for us to do, such as food they are allowed to have and if they have a space to spend time with them. So, Ray scheduled a birthday party for The Veteran on March 19. He was given some gifts from the Post, to include a flag, Palm cross, cross pin and he was Army, so he got an Army cap. Ray purchased a birthday cake and he and Chaplain Bill Guenther spent time with him and his guest.

Our Year starts off slow in January,
then we go right into our first fundraising event - The Atlantic City Boat Show at the Convention Center. This was our 3rd year in the event.
It is a 5-day event and everyone that has participated has enjoyed it.
This year the funds were a little less than the first 2 years, but I believe it was due to our location. We were off in the corner at the back of the building. The first year we were in the middle of the back row.

We had Beef n Beer for COTA at the Bolero Resort in Wildwood.
The BlackMagic Swing Band performed. Everyone that attended enoyed the evening.
Food was great, music was great and cause was great.
The BIG problem was only 31 people showed up, when the Bolero prepared food for up to 300 people. So, in the end, we took a loss. We are grateful for the Bolero in giving a break in our cost, they couldn't do more as they had full staff on. The Owner, Wally, really enjoyed the whole thing, so he said if we come back next year, he'll give us a prime day, either Friday or Saturday.

The Children’s Fresh Air Home (CFAH) is a non-profit organization that provides a no-cost, enriching summer experience at the Jersey Shore in a safe, positive environment for children who may be living with family or community adversities. It was started in 1896 by a mother of 6 children, Ida Dukes. She brought the first children to Wildwood in 1911 and then Fresh Air Home opened in 1923.
They have the outside of the building complete and are currently working on the inside.
